Bastide de Moustiers

Michelin-star restaurant in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence

1-star & Green-star Michelin restaurant by Alain Ducasse

From the terrace shaded by plane trees and surrounded by olive groves with views over the valley, to the various themed lounges designed to provide cosy settings, all the areas of the Bastide de Moustiers are open onto the magnificent garden and are devoted to tranquillity and taste.

Renovated in manner that brings a touch of modernity to this authentic 18th century building, the bright lounges have retained all their former charm and conviviality and are decorated with objects that are dear to Alain Ducasse, offering each one a unique atmosphere.

At the heart of the largest of them, the "Salon Voyage en Asie" lounge, there is a magnificent walnut fireplace and Japanese lacquer objects from the chef's personal collection, a tribute to this country so dear to him.

The "Salon des Arts décoratifs" lounge bears witness to Alain Ducasse's passion for the work of René Lalique and Jean Luce, through the plates signed by these two creators and presented like a school of fish to decorate the walls.

The "Salon hommage à Moustiers-Sainte-Marie" lounge pays tribute to the ceramic art work of this village in the Verdon, renowned for its expertise, with a contemporary collection.

The "Salon des gravures" lounge is the most intimate and has just one table for romantic dinners in a uniquely private setting.

The Winter Garden is an extension of the building, an opening onto the garden... This new space is certainly as close to nature as possible, sublimated by pieces from Monsieur Ducasse's collection.

A gourmet establishment, a place for good living and conviviality

It is a place open to all: the kitchen of the Bastide de Moustiers is first and foremost a place for sharing where the spaces interconnect and fit in with each other, the same as in a traditional inn or a family holiday home in Provence.

It isn't unusual to see the chef greeting customers and chatting about the dishes, inquisitive gourmet visitors visiting the kitchens to smell the delicious aromas, or touring the kitchen garden and meeting the teams. These are perfect places for laid-back discussions, in keeping with the notion of hospitality espoused by Alain Ducasse and the considerate team of professionals at the Bastide.

Plant-based cuisine with seasonal produce

Bringing great joy through dishes based on all that is essential: at the Bastide de Moustiers, in the heart of the Provencal countryside, the chef's dishes are inspired by the region, nature and all it has to offer: an endless inspiration in tune with the passing seasons, the produce in the Bastide's kitchen garden and availability at the surrounding farms.

The menu gives pride of place to plant-based dishes, and the creations are in line with a wish to serve Mediterranean cuisine that is open to modernity, enhancing tastes and flavours with simplicity and generosity.

In this gastronomic restaurant, the chef and his team humbly place their highly skilled techniques at the service of the produce, seasons and emotions.

The Bastide de Moustiers's kitchen garden

An inexhaustible source of inspiration for the chefs, a place where it is possible to chat and exchange ideas with the gardener, a peaceful spot open to guests where they can contemplate the bountiful natural surroundings all year round, the Bastide's garden is a genuine treasure trove.

Covering an area of almost 2,000 m2, this gourmet garden supplies the restaurant. From the seedlings prepared on site by the Bastide's teams following the needs of the chefs, to the products used in the kitchen, great attention is paid to every aspect of this garden.

From the earth to the plate, everyone is involved in growing, harvesting and cooking the organic tomatoes, courgettes, aubergines, peas and peppers from this exceptional garden.

Not far away, there is a simple herb garden indissociable from the authenticity that characterises Chef Ducasse's beloved establishment. Here, the chefs come every day to pick basil and other herbs, in a spontaneous and convivial atmosphere.
